What Is a Panel-Internal Fire Suppression System?

A panel-internal fire suppression system automatically extinguishes a fire that starts inside an electrical panel, at the very first moment and without anyone intervening. A heat-sensitive detection tube and a suppression unit are installed in the panel and act exactly where the fire starts.

How It Works

Panel-internal automatic suppression system diagram: detection tube, suppression unit and alarm output
  1. Detection: Heat inside the panel weakens the heat-sensitive detection tube.
  2. Activation: The tube opens at the fire point and pressure drops; the suppression unit operates.
  3. Suppression: The extinguishing agent discharges directly into the panel and suppresses the fire at an early stage.
  4. Notification: An alarm or warning signal can be given; power cut-off and fire alarm panel connection are possible.
